South Florida Developer uses Wildlife as Amenity
By David A. Podgursky, MBA • Mar 10th, 2008 • Category: Development, South Florida InfoAs reported in the Daytona News-Journal, Real Estate Developer Bobby Ginn has an innovative amenity to offer in his Tesoro Club single family home community in Port Saint Lucie, Florida… Wildlife!
Most Developers would spend a lot of time and money figuring out a way around dealing with Wildlife on their development land…especially if the animals in question were endangered. Or… as in this case… the National Symbol of the United States of America!!
Developers would normally spend many hours and lots of money working out the due diligence of an issue like this. Working with local and national authorities, the Audubon Society and conservationists they would try to figure out how to relocate these birds.
Bobby Ginn did what he does best and thought out of the box. As the original article states, Ginn set aside 120 acres of his development, worth some $40Million, as a nature preserve in perpetuity.
With homes priced as high as $5Million, this is an amazing selling feature… especially since the Eagles’ home is worth the most on the block!!
What a problem solver!
